If there’s one thing I’m truly passionate about when it comes to travel, it’s this: never travel without insurance. I say this not as a travel blogger, but as someone who has lived through the kind of travel mishaps you hope never happen to you. From food poisoning that landed me in a South American hospital, to lost luggage, missed connections and altitude sickness – I’ve learned (the hard way) just how quickly a dream holiday can take a turn.

These experiences have made one thing crystal clear: travel insurance is not a “nice to have” – it’s an absolute must. We will never travel without it again and I strongly encourage every Aussie traveller to do the same. It doesn’t matter if you’re heading to Lapland, lounging in Bali, or road tripping around Australia – things can and (unfortunately) do go wrong.
