Accommodation & Package Details

Travellers will stay at Jauri Resort in Kemijärvi, a cosy and modern retreat designed for comfort and relaxation. This well-appointed resort provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of Arctic adventures.

There are two options for accommodation – Jauri Cottage (two bedroom, sleeps six) or Vuopaja Log Cottage (one bedroom, sleeps 4).

The package includes partial board and self-catering options, ensuring flexibility to enjoy local cuisine while also having the convenience of preparing meals as needed. Daily breakfast is included to provide the perfect start to each day’s activities.

This trip features a carefully curated selection of inclusive activities, such as husky sledding, a reindeer safari, snowmobiling, a visit to Santa Claus Village and Ranua Arctic Wildlife Park, as well as a Northern Lights tour. For those who wish to customise their adventure further, optional excursions are available and can be booked directly, including ice fishing and cross-country skiing.

To ensure a stress-free travel experience, transfers from Rovaniemi are included (at a specific time), making the journey to and from Kemijärvi smooth and hassle-free. This allows travellers to focus on enjoying their time in Lapland without worrying about logistics.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1 – Arrival in Kemijärvi & Welcome Dinner

Arrive in the charming town of Kemijärvi and settle into your cosy accommodations at Jauri Resort. Enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at the resort’s restaurant, where you’ll savour traditional Finnish cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Day 2 – Husky Safari & Northern Lights Tour

Embark on an unforgettable husky safari, where you will be whisked through snowy forests by a team of enthusiastic huskies. Day 5 – Full-Day Excursion to Ranua Zoo & Santa Claus Village

In the afternoon, visit Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, where you can meet Santa, send postcards from the official Santa Claus Post Office and experience the festive charm of Lapland.

Day 6 – Snowmobiling Adventure & Farewell Dinner

Day 7 – Departure & Transfers

What’s NOT INCLUDED

Winter Wonderland Arctic Adventures in Lapland package EXCLUSIONS?

While this is an all-inclusive adventure, some expenses are not covered to allow for personal flexibility and individual preferences. Here’s what is not included:

Gear & equipment rentals (if needed) – While most activities include necessary equipment, specialised gear like hiking poles or additional cold-weather clothing may need to be rented if you don’t bring your own.

International flights – Travellers are responsible for booking their flights to and from Rovaniemi, Finland.

Airport transfers outside of designated times – If arriving or departing outside of the scheduled group transfer, you will need to arrange your own transport.

Travel insurance (required) – Comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses and activities is mandatory. Use this guide to help you choose the best travel insurance for your needs.

Alcohol & additional beverages – While breakfast and some dinners are included, alcoholic drinks, specialty coffees and extra beverages are at your own expense.

Additional meals outside the itinerary – If you choose to explore local restaurants beyond the included group meals.

Optional activities & personal expenses – Any extra excursions, spa treatments, souvenirs, or personal shopping are at your discretion.

Tips & gratuities – Tipping is not required in Finland, but if you wish to show appreciation for local guides, drivers, or exceptional service, it’s at your own discretion.

Travel Requirements & Other Important Info

Entry Requirements: Currently, Finland does not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for visitors. However, it’s always best to check for any updates before traveling. A valid passport (with at least six months of validity at the time of entry) is required, along with proof of onward travel (such as a return ticket).

Fitness & Activity Level: This trip is designed for families with children who are comfortable engaging in outdoor winter activities. While no extreme fitness level is required, participants should be prepared for moderate physical activity, including walking in snowy conditions, short hikes, and participating in activities such as husky sledding, reindeer safaris, and snowshoeing. Some activities may require standing for extended periods or walking on uneven, icy terrain. Ensuring children are appropriately dressed and prepared for winter conditions will help maximise enjoyment and comfort.

Weather & Packing: January in Finnish Lapland is the heart of winter, with temperatures typically ranging from -20°C to -5°C (-4°F to 23°F). Expect heavy snowfall, icy conditions, and limited daylight hours, making proper packing essential. A comprehensive packing list will be provided upon registration.

Group Travel Experience: This is a family-friendly small group trip, designed for like-minded families who share a love for adventure, nature, and meaningful experiences. We will travel together in transport arranged for the group, stay in family accommodations at Jauri Resort and participate in immersive Arctic activities as a group.

While there is a set itinerary, there is also some flexibility to allow families to explore at their own pace. Parents and children will have opportunities to bond with fellow travellers, share in the excitement of new experiences, and create unforgettable memories together in a magical winter wonderland.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

If you decide to cancel within the first 7 days of registering, I will provide you a 100% refund. After that, there will be NO refunds for cancellations, even illness. However, if unforeseen circumstances arise and I need to cancel the trip, I will either refund you or reschedule for an agreed upon time in the future.

Additionally, I will not provide any refunds 90 days prior to the departure of the trip, if you register within that time frame. Lastly, to participate in this group trip, you are required to purchase travel insurance before the trip. This way if you need to cancel, you will be reimbursed by your insurance company.
