In January, during our Arctic Adventures group trip from Australia, we experienced one of the most memorable moments of the entire journey – an intimate husky sledding adventure deep in the Lappish wilderness.

Driving our own husky teams through the Lappish forest

After a detailed safety briefing and clear instruction, every member of our small group had the opportunity to drive their own team of huskies.

With experienced local guides leading the way, we set off into the snow-covered forest. The Arctic air was crisp. The pine trees stood heavy with snow. The only sound was the steady rhythm of paws on powder and the quiet glide of sled runners along the trail.

For many in the group, this was a first – first time driving a sled, first time working with a team of huskies, first time experiencing the Arctic wilderness like this.
