How to Collect Qantas Frequent Flyer Points

How to Collect Qantas Frequent Flyer Points

4 October 2024 Off By Erin Parker

We have been collecting Qantas Frequent Flyer Points for many years now and we are always looking for more ways to collect to build our ‘points bank’ to make flying more achievable for our family. In this article you will find some of our top tips on collecting Qantas Frequent Flyer points to make travel cheaper and more achievable for your family.

First and foremost, we don’t recommend spending money on something that you don’t need, just to get points. The trick is to find ways of collecting points for things that you are already spending money on. There are so many avenues so I won’t be sharing them all – just our favourite everyday points collection points. You can check out the ‘earning points’ section in your Qantas dashboard for more information on businesses who you can buy through and earn points from.

Chrome Qantas Shopping Points-Prompter

If you haven’t already, download the Chrome Qantas Shopping Points-Prompter extension to your desktop or laptop. This will prompt you while you’re shopping to link your Qantas points to earn while you shop.

Qantas Wellbeing App

The Qantas Wellbeing App is available to anyone who is a Qantas Frequent Flyer member. You similar register (minimum age is 13), connect your device that monitors your daily steps, set yourself goals and earn points!

We have been earning points from moving for a number of years now and have literally earnt thousands of QFF points in that time. From the Wellbeing App alone, we would earn about 250 points per week, just for moving. The best thing, it doesn’t cost you a cent!

Once you have registered, you can also earn a bonus 150 points by referring friends. Once they have signed up and achieved their first goal, both you and your friend earn 150 points. You can refer up to 20 friends per year which equates to up to 3,000 points, just for getting your friends onboard! Once you have a community of people connected, you can set challenges to earn more points as well!

Additionally, within the App, there are other offers, challenges and bonuses to take advantage of.

Honestly, if you are trying to build your QFF points and haven’t already registered for the App, do yourself a favour! Gain points for moving, how could you possibly go wrong?!

Click here or go to your App Store to register.

Qantas linked credit cards

It is against the law to make recommendations on which credit cards are best to use so all I will tell you in this one is that we use the Qantas AMEX card which brings in the most points for us and the black Qantas ANZ card. Having Qantas linked credit cards is by far the way we accrue most points! If you know someone with this card, ask them for a referral code – it will get both them and you bonus points!

Qantas Health Insurance

We purchased our private health insurance through Qantas many years ago. It is linked to NIB so our family policy is the same as what you would get if purchasing through NIB.

Woolworths and Everday Rewards

Before you do a shop, go into the Everday Rewards app and ‘boost’ any products available to be boosted. Some offers are better than others but we have been known to earn over 6000 reward points which converts into 3000 Qantas points, just for doing our groceries. OK, so they’re not all that good but when they are it’s fantastic!

Qantas Wine

If you drink wine and you are going to buy wine anyway, it is worth keeping an eye on the Qantas Wine specials. Sometimes they have offers that include significant bonus points that are too good to pass up.

Booking Hotels and Airbnb

If you need to book a hotel definitely take a look at Qantas Hotels. Not only do you earn points but you can also sometimes earn bonus points and hotels are often cheaper. We always shop around to get the best price and more often recently, Qantas Hotels have had some great deals.

If you’re booking a holiday house through Airbnb, do this by logging into Qantas first and then book through Airbnb that way. Easy points for something you’re going to do anyway!
